Indian Army Hoists 100-Foot National Flag in Zanskar
Right before India's Independence Day, the Indian Army did something very special.
Soldiers from the 154 Field Regiment put up a huge Indian flag in a town called Padum, in a cold, high mountain area called Zanskar.
The flag is 100 feet tall, which is about as tall as a ten-story building.
It was part of a big campaign called 'Har Ghar Tiranga,' which means 'a flag in every home.'
The army commander raised the flag with the help of local leaders.
Many people came to watch, including police, teachers, and families.
The local leader said the flag makes Zanskar look beautiful and will help visitors find the town.
He also said the flag teaches people about love for their country and about helping others.
The army finished building the flag spot in about a month and a half, which is very fast.
Now, anyone who visits Zanskar will see the giant flag first and feel proud of India.
