Dhami Leads Har Ghar Tiranga Yatra in Dehradun
The chief minister of a state in India went on a big march with thousands of people who were carrying the Indian flag.
The march started at a park called Gandhi Park and ended at a famous clock tower in the city of Dehradun.
Before the march, he placed flowers at statues of two respected leaders.
He asked every family to put the Indian flag outside their home for Independence Day.
He said the flag shows that the country is proud, strong and united.
He also talked about India making new technology and defence equipment.
He told the crowd that his state is doing well because the economy is growing and people are earning more money.
He said many new businesses, startups and government jobs have been created.
He also spoke about new laws his government has made to bring change to the state.
Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami participated in the Har Ghar Tiranga Yatra in Dehradun on Sunday, marching from Gandhi Park to the Clock Tower.
Dhami appealed to residents to hoist the national flag at their homes on Independence Day, calling the Tricolour a symbol of national pride and unity.
He cited national initiatives under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, including Make in India, digital technology and indigenous technologies, as well as defence operations such as the surgical strikes and Operation Sindoor.
Dhami said Uttarakhand's GSDP grew 7.23% over the past year, per capita income rose 41%, more than 20,000 new industries were established and startups crossed 1,750.
He highlighted state measures including the Uniform Civil Code, action against more than 250 alleged illegal madrasas, and the freeing of more than 13,000 acres of government land from encroachment.
