Mumbai’s Seven Lakes Reach 96.61% Capacity Amid Monsoon Showers
Mumbai gets much of its water from seven lakes.

Together, they held 96.61% of their available water-storage capacity.
The lakes contained more than 1.39 trillion litres of useful water.
Vehar Lake was completely full.
Several lakes overflowed during heavy monsoon rain in July.

The lakes contained 1,398,318 million litres of useful water against a combined live storage capacity of 1,447,363 million litres.
Vehar was full, while Tansa and Bhatsa stood at 98.85% and 97.82%, respectively.
Several lakes and dams, including Vehar, Tulsi, Tansa and Modak Sagar, overflowed in July.
The India Meteorological Department forecast light to moderate rain and thunderstorms in Mumbai and nearby areas over the weekend.
