Indonesia Plans Housing Projects With Gas Networks and Solar Power
Indonesia is planning housing developments that would include household gas networks and solar power systems from the start.
Energy Minister Bahlil Lahadalia and Housing Minister Maruarar Sirait discussed the plan on Friday.
The homes are intended for areas near industrial centers and could provide housing for workers there.
Proposed pilot locations include North Maluku, Tangerang and Bekasi.
In Bekasi, a 30-hectare site at Meikarta has been donated by Lippo Group, and state investment agency Danantara is expected to be involved in building and financing the project.
The plan aims to bring energy facilities into housing developments as they are designed.
The government is still working on technical details, including regulations, land availability and financing.
