Three Excavators Sent to Help Clear Flood Damage in Padang

A flash flood hit Padang and nearby areas in Indonesia on Saturday, October 10, 2026.

Andre Rosiade, a member of Indonesia’s House of Representatives, sent three excavators to assist with the response.

The machines are intended to help with evacuations, clear flood debris and reopen blocked access.

They were directed to Batu Busuk, Guo and the Kuranji area; a local party official also named Guguak.

Flood debris has disrupted activity and access in affected areas.

Rosiade said the help should be coordinated with relevant parties and used where it is most needed.

Government agencies, volunteers and residents are expected to continue working together as the affected areas recover.
