Puebla reports 281 security operations and 122 arrests in early October

Security forces in Puebla, a state in Mexico, carried out 281 operations from October 1 to 10 and detained 122 people, officials said.

They also reported recovering stolen vehicles and seizing drugs, firearms, ammunition and fuel.

Puebla Governor Alejandro Armenta Mier said the state was third nationally in a September ranking, though he did not specify what the ranking measured.

The state prosecutor said 15 types of crime fell between January and September 2026 compared with the same period in 2025.

Intentional homicide was down 26.7 percent over that period.

Officials said operations involve state and local authorities working with national security forces, and that investigations should respect legal rights and due process.

The public was urged to report crimes or request help through the 911 app, the emergency number or the anonymous 089 hotline.
