Pío López Obrador begins neighborhood visits in Tuxtla Gutiérrez

Pío López Obrador, brother of former Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, has started visiting neighborhoods in Tuxtla Gutiérrez, in the state of Chiapas.

He is seeking to lead Morena’s Committees for the Defense of the Ninth Federal District, a role chosen through the party’s internal process.

He said residents welcomed him warmly and that their reception showed support for the government’s work under the political movement known as the Fourth Transformation.

Residents were shown placing a flower wreath on him during a visit.

López Obrador said he would uphold the movement’s principles and represent people in Tuxtla, especially those most in need.

He has pledged to continue visiting homes throughout the district and said he would respect the results of Morena’s selection process.

I committed to continuing to uphold the principles, ideals and convictions of our Movement and to represent all the inhabitants of Tuxtla with dignity, firmness and determination, but especially those who need it most, because for the good of all, the poor come first.
