Hamilton says different tyre plan led to sixth place in Singapore sprint shootout

Hamilton tried a different tyre preparation plan in the final qualifying session.

He said it was the wrong call and that he struggled for grip on the soft tyres.

He will start the Singapore Sprint in sixth place, behind team-mate Charles Leclerc in third.

Starting further back may make a good result harder on Singapore’s narrow, difficult-to-pass streets.
