Indonesia transfers Rp599.2 trillion to local governments by September

Indonesia had transferred Rp599.2 trillion to local governments by September 30, 2026.

That was 82.4% of the revised budget of Rp727.2 trillion for transfers to regions.

The government raised the original allocation of Rp693 trillion to account for natural disasters and additional needs in the regions.

The money helps pay salaries for 5.3 million local government civil servants and supports health and social insurance for some residents.

It also funds school and early-childhood education programs, teacher allowances, village funding and other regional needs.

These transfers help local governments pay for staff and services used by residents.

The government says it will continue sending the remaining funds in October, November and December.
