Aries Syahbudin named head of Indonesia’s traffic police
Indonesia’s police chief has reshuffled several senior posts in the National Traffic Corps, the force’s traffic division.
Brigadier General Aries Syahbudin will lead the corps, replacing Inspector General Wibowo, who is moving to a senior teaching post at the police education and training institute.
The changes were set out in an order dated October 10, 2026.
Brigadier General I Made Agus Prasatya will become director of registration and identification, while Brigadier General Budi Indra Dermawan will take over as director of law enforcement.
Brigadier General Chiko Ardwiatto will lead the division responsible for traffic safety and security.
Police say the reshuffle is intended to meet organizational needs, develop careers and strengthen performance.
The newly appointed officers are expected to adapt quickly, maintain ongoing programs and serve the public professionally.
