Pertamina coastal program combines education, mangrove care and local income
PT Pertamina Patra Niaga runs the Coastal Children’s Nature School program in Cendi Manik village, West Nusa Tenggara.
The program began in 2014 and serves 135 people.
It uses the coast and mangrove areas as classrooms, helping children learn about local ecosystems, care for the environment and explore local economic opportunities.
The program has supported the planting of 4,500 mangrove seedlings and involved 1,772 participants in 11 coastal learning activities.
It has also helped local groups earn an additional Rp 24 million a year and save Rp 6.6 million a year in energy costs through solar power.

In 2026, the program is developing Pertakid as a learning tool for its students.
