63,789 people reported layoffs in Indonesia from January to September
Indonesia's Manpower Ministry recorded 63,789 workers who reported losing their jobs from January through September 2026.
The figures come from reports to the country's Job Loss Insurance system.
West Java had the highest number, with 13,044 workers, followed by Banten and East Java.
The total reflects reports after some duplicate records were removed.
Records with the same national identity number and a layoff date less than six months apart are treated as duplicates.
Workers can still file claims for up to six months after a layoff, so figures for recent months may change as data is updated.
The ministry says figures from different releases should not be compared directly without accounting for updates and reporting cut-off dates.
