Bulog plans plastic sack factories as profit reaches Rp2.4 trillion
Perum Bulog, Indonesia’s state-owned food company, plans to build factories to make plastic sacks used to package rice.
Its first project is planned for Jakarta, with factories later planned on other major islands.
Bulog says it needs many sacks for its operations but does not have its own manufacturing facilities.
The plan comes as the company reports Rp2.4 trillion in profit through the end of September 2026.
Its chief executive expects profit to reach Rp3 trillion by the end of the year.
Bulog also plans to repair grain and rice processing units and invest in staff training.
