AMD’s new mini-PC supports up to 192 GB of RAM and 160 GB of VRAM
AMD has released a new Developer Platform mini-PC based on its Gorgon Halo platform.
The system can support up to 192 GB of unified memory, compared with up to 128 GB on the earlier Strix Halo platform.
Up to 160 GB of that memory can be assigned to graphics as VRAM.
The new Radeon 8065S graphics chip is a minor revision of the Radeon 8060S, with the same 40 computing units and RDNA 3.5 architecture.
Benchmarks show modest CPU performance improvements over the previous platform.
AMD lists the configuration with 192 GB of RAM and 2 TB of storage for $7,299.
The higher memory capacity may help users who need substantial graphics memory, but it comes at a high price.
