Citroën unveils electric 2CV concept, with production planned for 2028

Citroën has unveiled a modern, fully electric version of its 2CV, a French car first presented in 1948 and produced until 1990.

The concept was shown in Paris ahead of the 2026 Motor Show.

Its rounded shape and details recall the original, while the interior is designed to be simple and practical.

Citroën says the production car is planned for 2028 and will be built in Europe.

The company is targeting a price of about €15,000, though the sources differ on whether it will be below that figure.

Battery size, driving range and charging speed have not been announced.

The plan is to bring the familiar small car back as an affordable electric model, but its final specifications and price remain to be confirmed.
