West Java partners with 86 hospitals to widen access to care

West Java’s provincial government has partnered with 86 hospitals to make treatment easier for residents to access.

The network includes seven hospitals owned by the province and 79 other hospitals, including public referral hospitals and private facilities.

The hospitals are in West Java and Jakarta.

The government says patients can receive care through the arrangement even when they are outside their home administrative area.

People whose treatment is not covered by BPJS Health or another form of insurance can still be treated, with costs set at the class-three level.

Governor Dedi Mulyadi said the policy is meant to ensure residents are not left without help when they face hardship.

He has also urged local governments to identify health problems early, using information from residents and social media, so responses do not depend on people appealing directly to him.
