Over 9.5 Lakh Hyderabad Voters Tagged as Absentee, Shifted, Dead
Election officials in Hyderabad are checking the official list of people who can vote.
They are looking for voters who have moved away, cannot be found, or have passed away.
These voters are being marked with the letters ASD, which means absentee, shifted, or dead.
More than one in every five voters in Hyderabad has been marked this way.
That is about 9.5 lakh people out of 47.36 lakh registered voters.
Officials have already processed more than half of the forms voters filled out.
People could send their forms online or on paper.
The most marked voters are in the Jubilee Hills, Musheerabad, and Yakutpura areas.
Anyone who needs to fix their voter details can submit a form until August 10.
Cleaning up the voter list helps make sure elections are fair and accurate.
More than one in five electors in Hyderabad district has been tagged as absentee, shifted or dead (ASD) during the special intensive revision (SIR) of the electoral roll.
Of the 47.36 lakh electors across 15 Assembly constituencies, the ECI has digitised 12.08 lakh (57.56 per cent) of voter enumeration forms.
Jubilee Hills recorded the highest number of ASD electors at 88,933, followed by Musheerabad at 84,917 and Yakutpura at 84,792.
Enumeration forms were distributed to all 47.36 lakh voters, with 4.91 lakh (10.37 per cent) submitted online.
The last date to submit forms is August 10, with Bahadurpura recording the most online submissions at 72,393.
