Hyderabad SIR draft rolls out with 27.95 lakh voters
The Election Commission is getting ready for elections in Hyderabad.
It made a big list of people who can vote, called the draft electoral roll.
The list has almost 28 lakh people on it.
The list was shared with the public on August 17.
People can check if their names are on the list.
If there is a mistake, they can ask to fix it until September 16.
The final list will be ready on October 19, 2026.
Some people on the old list had moved away or passed away, so they were removed.
This helps make sure only eligible people can vote.
Draft electoral rolls for all 15 Assembly constituencies in Hyderabad district were published on August 17 under the Special Intensive Revision (SIR).
The draft rolls include 27,95,225 electors — 13,86,536 male, 14,08,513 female and 176 third-gender voters.
Karwan recorded the highest number of electors with 2,41,424, followed by Bahadurpura, Chandrayangutta and Jubilee Hills.
Claims and objections can be filed from August 17 to September 16, with final electoral rolls scheduled for October 19, 2026.
The enumeration identified 19,41,444 ASD/uncollectable electors, of which 69.30% were classified as shifted.
