Mahalaxmi Cable-Stayed Flyover Opening Delayed to December 2026

Mumbai is building a very special new bridge called a cable-stayed flyover.

It is the first bridge of its kind for Mumbai's civic body.

The bridge is being built near Mahalaxmi Railway Station.

It goes over the railway tracks and will connect two places called Saat Rasta and Mahalaxmi Ground.

A very tall steel column, called a pylon, is being built to hold up the bridge.

The pylon is about 78.5 metres high.

Part of the bridge is already finished, but another part is still waiting to be built.

The bridge was first supposed to be ready at the end of October.

But because workers had to move some underground pipes and wires, it will take about two extra months.

Now the bridge is expected to be ready by December 31, 2026.
