Four New Road Overbridges to Ease Traffic in Mumbai

Mumbai is a very big city in India where lots of people travel by cars, buses, and trains.

At some places, roads cross over railway tracks, and the old bridges there were built a very long time ago, during British rule.

Some of these bridges are over a hundred years old, and they are too small and old for all the traffic.

So the city is building four new bridges to help vehicles cross the railway tracks more easily.

One of the new bridges will have two levels, stacked on top of each other, the first time Mumbai has done this.

The lower level will carry local traffic, and the top level will connect to a new road.

The new bridges will have more lanes, so many more cars can cross at the same time.

The work will finish over the next two years, with the bridges opening in 2026 and 2027.

When the bridges are done, traffic in Mumbai should flow much more smoothly.
