Over 600 Women Join Mass Varalakshmi Vratam in Vijayawada
More than 600 women gathered at a temple in Vijayawada for a special prayer ceremony.
The ceremony was called the Varalakshmi Vratam.
It took place on the last Friday of the holy Sravana Masam.
Temple priests led the prayers with Vedic chanting.
The temple gave all the needed prayer materials for free.
Afterward, the women received turmeric, Kumkum, blouse pieces, bangles and prasadam.
Another devotee donated gold ornaments weighing about 22.800 grams to the temple.
The ornaments included a gold Bottu, Nattu and Bulaki decorated with stones and pearls.
More than 600 women attended a free mass Varalakshmi Vratam at Sri Durga Malleswara Swamy Varla Devasthanam.
The ritual was held on the last Friday of Sravana Masam at the Sri Mallikarjuna Maha Mandapam.
Temple authorities provided puja materials free of cost and conducted the programme in two sessions.
Participants received turmeric, Kumkum, blouse pieces, bangles and prasadam after the Vratam.
