Andhra Pradesh is changing the boundaries of some city election wards.

Officials are using population numbers from the 2011 Census.

They will compare each ward’s population with the average population.

They must also record the populations of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes in each ward.

People can send objections and suggestions from September 5 to September 11.

The final plan is expected to be published on September 14.

A High Court decision allowed officials to continue this work.

The state government hopes to hold municipal elections in October.

The State Election Commission is also beginning preparations for the elections.
