India's Solar Open Access Additions Hit Record 3GW in Q2

India installed more solar power for businesses and factories than ever before in the second quarter of 2026.

Rajasthan led the new installations, and a small group of states made up most of the additions.

Many industries, including automotive, cement, healthcare and technology, were involved in buying renewable power.

Future growth could be slowed by higher costs, transmission limits and changing regulations.
