Mumbai Reservoirs Hold 97.62% Water Stock Near Full Capacity
Mumbai gets much of its water from seven large reservoirs.
On Sunday, those reservoirs were almost completely full.
They held 97.62% of their total useful water capacity.
This equals more than 14 lakh million litres of water.
Vehar was completely full, while several other reservoirs were above 98%.
Tulsi and Vehar received some rain during the previous 24 hours.
The water level was slightly lower than the same time in 2025.
However, it was higher than the level recorded on the same date in 2024.
Mumbai’s seven reservoirs held 14,12,978 million litres, or 97.62% of useful capacity, on Sunday.
The combined useful capacity of the reservoirs is 14,47,363 million litres.
Vehar was at 100%, while Middle Vaitarna stood at 99.70% and Bhatsa at 99.25%.
Tulsi received 5 mm of rain and Vehar received 4 mm in the previous 24 hours.
Current water stock is below the 99.67% recorded in 2025 but above the 98.55% recorded in 2024.
