Mumbai Reservoirs Reach 97.94% Water Storage Capacity

Mumbai gets much of its water from seven large lakes and reservoirs.

On Tuesday morning, they were almost completely full.

Together, they held about 14.17 lakh million litres of water.

This was 97.94% of the amount they can usefully store.

The water level increased from the previous day because some areas received rain.

Three reservoirs—Bhatsa, Vehar and Tulsi—were completely full.

Other reservoirs were also close to full, although their levels varied.

The current amount is a little lower than on the same date in the previous two years.

Officials said Mumbai’s water supply position remains comfortable as the monsoon enters its final phase.
