Mumbai’s Seven Reservoirs Reach 97.72% Water Stock After Monsoon
Mumbai gets much of its water from seven large reservoirs.
On Friday, September 18, these reservoirs were 97.72% full.
Together, they held more than 14 lakh million litres of water.
Vehar was completely full, while the other reservoirs were also mostly full.
Modak Sagar had the lowest level, at 90.44%.
Rain fell over all seven reservoirs during the previous 24 hours.
The water level increased slightly from the day before.
The city’s water supply is supported by the large amount of water collected during the monsoon.
Mumbai’s seven reservoirs held 97.72% of their combined useful capacity on Friday, September 18.
Live storage reached 14,14,395 million litres against a total useful capacity of 14,47,363 million litres.
Vehar was full, while Tulsi, Tansa, Bhatsa, Middle Vaitarna and Upper Vaitarna were above 94% capacity.
Modak Sagar recorded the lowest level among the seven reservoirs at 90.44%.
The stock was slightly below the 99.02% recorded on September 18, 2025, and 98.64% on the same date in 2024.
