Officials told to speed up LRS application clearance in Shamshabad
City leaders who take care of parts of Hyderabad had a meeting on Tuesday.
They talked about a city rule called the Layout Regularization Scheme, or LRS for short.
This rule lets people who built houses or buildings without following every city rule pay a fee and make things right.
Many people sent in their papers, but the city office had not finished checking all of them.
A leader named K. Chandrakala told the workers to check the papers faster.
She also told them to quickly give official approval papers to people who already paid their fee.
There is good news for many families: they can get 25% off the fee between the 1st and the 30th of August.
The workers were asked to tell everyone about this discount so more people can use it.
City leaders are hurrying because there may be elections soon, and they want all these papers finished before then.
Zonal Commissioner K. Chandrakala chaired a review meeting on Tuesday to speed up clearance of pending LRS applications in Shamshabad Zone.
Officials from Shamshabad, Adibatla, Badangpet and Jalpally attended the meeting along with ward officers and town planning staff.
Officials were instructed to dispose of pending LRS applications quickly, expedite fee collection, and issue proceedings to applicants who have paid.
A 25% rebate on LRS fee will be implemented from 1–30 August, and officials were asked to spread awareness about the relaxation.
The meeting comes amid speculation that the state government may lift G.O. 111, which restricts construction within 10 km of Himayat Sagar and Osman Sagar lakes.
