The government has approved a large water project for Hyderabad.

It will bring water from Mallannasagar to Ghanpur.

The plan is intended to help fill the Osmansagar and Himayatsagar reservoirs.

It is also part of efforts to rejuvenate the Musi river.

A company called MEIL will build the main water-supply facilities.

The company may begin using its own money while waiting for a bank loan.

Another project will build 22 plants to clean sewage.

These sewage plants will be operated and maintained for 15 years.

Package-II covers 22 sewage-treatment plants with combined capacity of 471.5 MLD and costs Rs 1,906.44 crore.
Sewage project timeline
Construction is scheduled for completion within 24 months, followed by 15 years of operation and maintenance.
