Andhra Pradesh Collector launches Custom Hiring Centre, distributes SHG loans
A woman called the District Collector came to a village to help farmers.
She started a new place called a Custom Hiring Centre.
This centre is like a toy library, but for big farm machines.
Farmers with small fields can borrow tractors and tools for a low price.
That way they do not have to buy very expensive machines.
The centre is in Veligandla village in Kanigiri.
It is the second such centre in the whole state of Andhra Pradesh.
Women's groups called Self-Help Groups will help run the centre.
Many of these women's groups also got loans from banks to help them earn money.
The people in charge hope this makes farming easier and more profitable for everyone.
District Collector M Vijaya Suneetha launched a Custom Hiring Centre at Veligandla in Kanigiri constituency on Thursday.
The centre, set up under DRDA-Velugu, offers tractors, rotavators, tillers, cultivators and sprayers at low rental rates on a first-come-first-served basis.
It is the first Custom Hiring Centre in Kanigiri constituency and the second in Andhra Pradesh after Tirupati.
464 Self-Help Groups in Kanigiri constituency received bank linkage loans worth Rs 75 crore this financial year.
