Hyderabad Govt. Cancels Wipro Junction Grade Separators, Plans Flyover
The city of Hyderabad decided not to build a new set of roads that cross over each other at Wipro Junction.
Instead, the money that was meant for that project will be used to build a new bridge that goes over the road.
The bridge will be made of steel and will have two lanes, one for each direction.
The plan is part of a big traffic improvement project called H‑CITI Package‑I.
The city council has been told to start looking for companies to build the bridge, and the whole project will cost about 368 crore rupees, which is part of a larger 5,942 crore rupee plan for many projects in the city.
Hyderabad government dropped the grade separator plan at Wipro Junction.
Rs 158 crore earmarked for that plan will fund a two‑lane steel flyover from Banjara Hills Road No.3 to GVK Mall.
The revised plan is part of the Hyderabad City Integrated Traffic Infrastructure (H‑CITI) Package‑I.
GHMC has permission to invite tenders for the steel bridge under EPC mode.
Package‑I approved at Rs 368 crore, within a total outlay of Rs 5,942 crore for all mega‑plan projects.
