J&K Police Raid Multiple Locations in Crackdown on Terror Network
Early on Saturday morning, police in Jammu and Kashmir searched many homes at the same time.
They call this a raid.
The police are looking into people who use the internet to support terrorism and convince young people to join such groups.
The searches happened in five areas: Baramulla, Shopian, Anantnag, Kupwara and Bandipora.
Police also visited the homes of a man in jail and a woman to ask questions.
They are worried that these groups are trying to become active again after some recent attacks.
The police talked to more than 5,000 people to find clues.
They discovered that hidden helpers might be waking up and that online recruiting is growing.
Using fake SIM cards, secret apps and social media to share bad messages is not allowed.
The police say they will be very strict about stopping this.
Jammu and Kashmir Police's counter-intelligence wing conducted pre-dawn raids in Baramulla, Shopian, Anantnag, Kupwara and Bandipora.
The raids targeted an alleged network involved in online terror glorification, radicalisation and recruitment.
Homes raided included Usman Gulzar's in Shopian, Babar Dar's in Kupwara over SIM misuse, and Laali's in Bandipora over online radicalisation.
Agencies have questioned more than 5,000 individuals across the Valley following recent targeted killings.
A senior officer said fake SIMs, encrypted apps and social media used to push terror narratives will be dealt with zero tolerance.
