Two Held in Kashmir Crackdown Amid Searches on JeI Network
Police in Kashmir arrested two people for sharing videos and messages on the internet that they say could make people support bad actions.
The men were arrested after police searched many places over the weekend.
One man is from Anantnag district and the other is from Sopore.
Police took their phones and other electronic devices to check them carefully.
The case is being handled under very serious laws that deal with activities that threaten national security.
At the same time, police searched 26 places connected to a group called Jamaat-e-Islami, which is a banned organization.
They want to find out if the group is connected to other unlawful activities.
Police say this is part of a bigger effort to stop networks that spread harmful messages.

The accused are Mehran Qazi of Dooru, Anantnag, and Babar Hamid Dar of Sopore, both taken into custody on Sunday.
The arrests followed weekend searches conducted under FIR No. 03/2023 at Police Station CIK Srinagar, invoking IPC and UAPA provisions.
Investigators seized six digital devices and seven SIM cards, which have been sent for forensic examination.
A parallel crackdown targeting a suspected Jamaat-e-Islami-linked network covered 26 locations in Sopore and Baramulla district.
