CIK Raids Multiple Kashmir Locations Over SIM Misuse, Terror Cases
Police detectives in Kashmir woke up early on Saturday to search several homes.
The searches happened in different towns like Kupwara, Bandipora, Pattan and Zainapora.
The police think some people there may have used mobile phone SIM cards in a wrong way.
They also think some people may have been using social media to do bad things.
One home search was connected to a case from 2023.
In a separate case, a man named Usman Gulzar is already in jail in Jammu.
The police are part of a bigger investigation into terror-related activities.
They are also looking into how people might be convinced to join bad groups.
Crime Investigation Kashmir (CIK) conducted multiple early-morning raids across North and South Kashmir on Saturday.
Raids targeted residences in Kupwara, Hajin in Bandipora, Pattan and Zainapora over suspected SIM misuse and social media offences.
The Zainapora search was linked to FIR No. 03/2023 at Police Station CIK Srinagar, involving IPC Sections 505 and 153-A and UAPA Sections 13 and 18.
Usman Gulzar, son of Gulzar Ahmad Wani, is already arrested and lodged at Central Jail Kot Bhalwal in Jammu in connection with FIR No. 104/2022.
The searches are part of a wider CIK investigation into terror-related activities, SIM misuse and possible radicalisation networks in Kashmir.
