J&K High Court orders release of man from preventive detention
In India, sometimes the police can keep someone in jail even without a trial, to stop them from doing something dangerous.

The state argued the man had a primary role in past terror attacks in Shopian and was a well-known worker for Lashkar-e-Taiba and The Resistance Front, acting secretly so normal law could not be applied.
