Jaishankar Hands Over 54 Mahindra Electric SUVs to Bhutan
India gave Bhutan 54 new electric SUVs made by Mahindra.
The handover happened in Thimphu during S. Jaishankar’s visit.
Bhutan will use the vehicles for its official government fleet.
The SUVs run on electricity instead of petrol or diesel.
Their battery is designed to travel up to 542 kilometers under India’s testing system.
They can also charge quickly under suitable conditions.
The vehicles have three screens, a large glass roof and other technology features.
The delivery is part of cooperation between India and Bhutan on cleaner transport and other areas.
India handed over 54 Mahindra XEV 9e electric SUVs to Bhutan’s government in Thimphu.
The vehicles will join the Royal Government of Bhutan’s official fleet.
The handover took place during External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar’s two-day visit to Bhutan.
The supplied Pack Two variant has a 59 kWh battery, rear-wheel drive and 542 km claimed range.
The vehicles support discussions on e-mobility, sustainable transport, energy and connectivity between India and Bhutan.
