Cabinet Approves Third, Fourth Rail Lines Between Gummidipoondi and Gudur

The Union Cabinet approved two more railway lines between Gummidipoondi and Gudur.

These lines will add space for more trains to travel.

The project will cover 90 kilometres.

It is expected to cost ₹2,229 crore and take four years to complete.

The extra tracks should help reduce train traffic and delays.

The work will include a large bridge over the Swarnamukhi River and many other bridges.

More railway capacity will also help move goods such as cement, containers and food grains.

Dr Maddila Gurumoorthy said the project could help businesses and the economies of Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu.
