Amaravati To Get Sports City And Sports University

The Andhra Pradesh government plans to build a large Sports City and Sports University in Amaravati.

The project will cover 2,500 acres.

Sports stars including PV Sindhu, Pullela Gopichand and Kidambi Srikanth have been given land for academies.

These academies can help train future athletes.

Six special academies have also been created for children from rural areas.

The state plans to improve sports facilities in Vizag, Amaravati and Tirupati.

A factory for making sports goods is planned near Nellore.

Officials say these efforts are meant to help more athletes from Andhra Pradesh compete in major events.
