Schools were encouraged to build courts and running tracks where space is available.
The government plans to develop Visakhapatnam, Amaravati, and Tirupati as sports hubs.
It also plans to build a large Sports City near Vijayawada and Amaravati.
More than 2.07 lakh athletes took part in the championship.
The event ended in Tirupati, where 9,911 finalists competed.
Andhra Pradesh Assembly Speaker Chintakayala Ayyannapatrudu said sports should be integrated with education for children’s holistic development.
He called for effective implementation of the sports quota, including coaching, financial incentives, and employment opportunities for talented athletes.
Sports and Transport Minister M Ram Prasad Reddy said Visakhapatnam, Amaravati, and Tirupati are being developed as sports hubs.
The government plans to establish a 500-acre Sports City in the Vijayawada-Amaravati region, along with sports academies and a sports university.
More than 2.07 lakh athletes competed in the 15-day Amaravati Championship across 175 constituencies, with 9,911 finalists competing in Tirupati.
