Nara Lokesh lays foundation stone for PV Sindhu's sports academy
PV Sindhu is a famous badminton player from India.
She wants to build a big center where athletes can train.
The center will have modern machines and great places to practice.
On Wednesday, a minister from the Andhra Pradesh government came to the spot where the center will be built.
His name is Nara Lokesh.
He did a special ceremony called Bhoomi Puja to bless the ground.
Then he laid the foundation stone together with Sindhu and the sports minister.
Many leaders and people came to watch and celebrate.
When it is finished, athletes will get to use its new facilities to train and improve.
Nara Lokesh, Andhra Pradesh Minister for Education and IT, performed the Bhoomi Puja for PV Sindhu's 'Center for Sports Excellence' in Visakhapatnam.
The foundation stone was laid at Thotagaruvu in the Arilova area of Visakhapatnam on Wednesday.
Lokesh laid the stone alongside PV Sindhu and Sports Minister Mandipalli Ramprasad Reddy and unveiled a commemorative plaque.
The minister reviewed the academy's building design and the state-of-the-art facilities and amenities planned for athletes.
AP TDP President Palla Srinivasa Rao, local MLAs, SAAP officials and Greenko director Chalamalasetti Swathi attended the ceremony.
