NFR Freight Loading Grows 18.1% in July 2026
Trains carry important things like cement, rocks, fuel and containers from one place to another.
In northeast India, a train company called Northeast Frontier Railway moves these goods.
In July 2026, the company carried a lot more cargo than it did in July last year.
The amount of freight went up by about 18 percent.
Cement went up the most, growing by nearly 90 percent.
Containers and dolomite also grew a lot.
From the start of the year through July, the railway moved more than 4 million tonnes of goods.
That is about 7 percent more than the same time last year.
This increase shows that businesses and factories in the region are growing.
The railway is working on new technology and better service so it can keep carrying more in the future.
Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) loaded 1.105 million tonnes of freight in July 2026, an 18.1% increase over the previous year.
Cement loading jumped 89.6%, the highest growth among key commodities.
Container loading rose 45.5% and dolomite loading climbed 42.9% during the month.
Cumulative freight loading up to July 2026 reached 4.135 million tonnes, up 6.9% year-on-year.
NFR attributed the growth to rising economic and industrial activity across the Northeast and adjoining areas.
