N.F. Railway Consultative Meeting Highlights Northeast Connectivity and Infrastructure Growth
Railway officials and public representatives met to discuss trains and railway projects in Northeast India.
The meeting took place at Maligaon on August 25, 2026.

The 98th ZRUCC meeting was held at Maligaon on August 25, 2026, under General Manager Chetan Kumar Shrivastava.
Railway electrification has reached 4,170 route kilometres, while 15 new train services and over 250 additional stoppages have been introduced.
Major projects discussed included Bairabi–Sairang, railway works in Nagaland and Arunachal Pradesh, doubling up to Tinsukia, and the new Saraighat Bridge.
Ninety-two stations are being redeveloped under the Amrit Station Scheme, alongside expanded digital ticketing and passenger amenities.
Public representatives and railway users submitted suggestions, which N.F. Railway said would be considered and implemented in phases based on feasibility and priorities.
