Andhra Pradesh Tops India in Patient Safety Assessment
Andhra Pradesh was ranked first in India for patient safety.
It received a score of 86.
The assessment looked at 62 government hospitals in the state.
These included area hospitals and district hospitals.
All of the hospitals completed the required self-assessment.
Health officials reviewed the results and sent a report to a national health organisation.
Andhra Pradesh has also increased the number of hospitals certified under a national quality programme.
The national event discussed how to keep patients safe while treating non-communicable diseases.
Andhra Pradesh ranked first nationally in patient safety with a score of 86.
Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu, and Tamil Nadu followed in the rankings.
The assessment covered 62 government hospitals in Andhra Pradesh, including 53 area hospitals and nine district hospitals.
Andhra Pradesh achieved 100% coverage through a patient-safety self-assessment process, with findings submitted to the National Health Systems Resource Centre.
The national event focused on safe medical care for non-communicable diseases and marked World Patient Safety Day.
