Minister Hails Bhadrachalam Doctors After Chloroquine Illness Rescue
Fifty-two people became sick after taking chloroquine tablets.
They included 47 children and five adults.
The patients came from the Gollaguppa area in Andhra Pradesh.
They were taken to Bhadrachalam Area Hospital on Tuesday night.
Doctors and hospital staff quickly treated them.
Health Minister Damodar Rajanarsimha praised the medical team.
He said the patients received better medical care.
He also said government hospitals in remote forest areas can provide emergency services.
Doctors and staff at Bhadrachalam Area Hospital saved 52 people who became ill after taking chloroquine tablets.
Those treated included 47 children and five adults from the Gollaguppa area.
The patients were shifted to the hospital on Tuesday night from Polavaram district in Andhra Pradesh.
Health Minister Damodar Rajanarsimha congratulated the hospital team for responding promptly.
The minister said government hospitals in remote forest areas are providing emergency and quality medical services.
