Noida Sector 1 skywalk construction to begin within a month
People in Noida often have to cross a very busy road, which can be dangerous.
To help them stay safe, the city is building a skywalk, which is like a bridge for people who walk.
It will be near Sector 1, close to the metro station and a coaching centre.
The skywalk will have escalators and a lift, so people do not have to climb stairs.
The city will not pay for it with its own money.
Instead, a company will pay to build it, and in return, that company can put advertisements on the skywalk.
The company will also take care of the skywalk for about 15 years.
Work will start soon, and first, workers will check the area within a week.
Another skywalk connecting two metro stations is almost finished and might open on August 15 or 16.
These skywalks help everyone cross roads safely without stopping traffic.
Survey and marking work, including pillar locations and obstacle identification, is expected to begin within a week.
The skywalk will be built under the Build-Operate-Transfer model at an estimated cost of around Rs 15 crore.
The selected agency will finance construction and receive advertising rights, while the Noida Authority bears no construction cost.
The agency will maintain the skywalk for around 15 years.
The Sector 51-52 skywalk connecting metro stations is nearing completion and may open on August 15 or 16.
