State Government Considering Incentives to Strengthen Women's Farmland Rights
Some grown-ups in India are in charge of making sure people have enough food and rights.
A minister named Mr. Venkataramanan said the government wants to help women own and control farmland.
Right now, many women grow food but do not own the land they work on.
Owning land can help women feel safe, earn money, and make decisions.
The minister said the government might discuss new plans in the next budget session.
He was speaking at a big meeting in Chennai for the M.S. Swaminathan Research Foundation.
The meeting was about making food, land, and water fair for women.
People at the meeting also talked about very hot weather hurting women and about making sure women and girls get healthy food.
A lady from UN Women said that when women have money, it is good for everyone.
The leaders hope new rules will help women in farming be stronger and more equal.

He made the remarks at the valedictory session of the annual conference of the M.S. Swaminathan Research Foundation in Chennai.
This year's conference, themed 'Building Gender-Just Food, Land and Water Systems', was held on the birth anniversary of Prof M.S. Swaminathan and against the backdrop of the UN's International Year of the Woman Farmer.
Speakers, including Kanta Singh of UN Women and Dr N.R. Bhanumurthy of the Madras School of Economics, highlighted women's economic control, climate change impacts and India's nutrition challenges.
