Andhra Pradesh sets 95-95-99 HIV goals by December 1
HIV is a virus that can make people very sick, but special medicines can help them stay healthy.
The health leader of Andhra Pradesh, a state in India, is working to make the state free of AIDS.
He asked young people and volunteers to help with this big goal.
The plan is called the 95-95-99 target.
That means 95 out of 100 people with HIV should know they have it.
Then 95 out of 100 people who know should get their medicine.
And 99 out of 100 people taking medicine should have the virus under control.
The state has already done a great job, with 77 percent fewer new infections and 87 percent fewer deaths.
Right now the state is at 88-87-96.2 percent.
The leader started a 60-day campaign to teach people and keep the progress going.
He also showed a computer tool called the Suraksha Dashboard to check how each district is doing.
The whole state hopes to reach the goal by December 1.
