Andhra Pradesh Literacy Rate Rises to 82%

The education minister of Andhra Pradesh, Nara Lokesh, announced that the state's literacy rate has increased from 72.6% in 2024 to 82.1% in 2026.

This improvement is due to the Akshara Andhra program, which has helped 25 lakh people learn to read and write.

The minister wants to make sure everyone in the state can read and write by September 2027.

He also asked officials to make sure all school-age children are enrolled in school and to improve student attendance.
