Delhi government intensifies HIV awareness campaign targeting youth, communities
The Delhi government is starting a big campaign to teach people about HIV, a virus that can make people sick.
The campaign is called 'Know AIDS — No AIDS' and will last for two months in both cities and villages of Delhi.
It was launched on International Youth Day at a hospital in Rohini, with more than 600 students and helpers taking part.
The government wants everyone to get the right information, get tested, and get treatment if they need it.
Health Minister Pankaj Singh said stopping HIV is also everyone's social responsibility.
The campaign will remove myths and make sure people living with HIV are not treated unfairly.
It will include rallies, school and college programs, door-to-door visits, and testing camps.
In the last year, more than 14 lakh people in Delhi were tested for HIV.
More than 44,000 people living with HIV are currently getting care at 12 treatment centres.
The government also gives financial help to people living with HIV, and thousands have already joined the scheme.

Currently, 44,546 people living with HIV/AIDS are under active care at 12 antiretroviral treatment centres in Delhi, and 8,047 beneficiaries are enrolled in the financial assistance scheme.
