Uttar Pradesh wants its job-training schools, called ITIs, to work closely with companies.

This would help students learn skills that employers actually need.

The state also wants more apprenticeships and on-the-job training.

English training will be required for every trainee, and foreign-language training is being planned for jobs in places such as Japan and Germany.

The government is upgrading many ITIs and building modern skill labs.

It also wants special help for young people from families identified under the Zero Poverty campaign.

Officials said more than 21 lakh young people have been trained in five years.

The chief minister said success should be measured by how many people get jobs or start businesses, not only by how many are trained.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath

Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh

Rapid efforts should be made to make Uttar Pradesh the country's leading skill hub by providing the state's youth with modern skills, industry-based training and global employment opportunities.”
