Shiv Sena MP Sandipan Bhumre presses for Marathwada railway division
A politician named Sandipan Bhumre is asking the Indian government to give a region called Marathwada its own railway office.
Right now, trains in Marathwada are looked after by the Nanded Division of South Central Railway.
Mr. Bhumre thinks his region needs its own railway division to get better trains and stations.
He wrote a letter to the Railway Minister, Ashwini Vaishnaw, asking for this.
He had asked before on July 8, 2026, but nothing had been done yet.
So he went to Delhi to remind the minister again.
He says Marathwada is a big, growing area with more people, factories and tourists.
A separate railway division could help build new tracks, improve stations and speed up repairs.
It could also help famous places like Ajanta and Ellora get more visitors.
Now the Railway Minister needs to decide whether to approve the idea.
Shiv Sena MP Sandipan Bhumre submitted a fresh reminder to Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw at Rail Bhavan in Delhi demanding a separate railway division for Marathwada.
Bhumre had earlier submitted a letter on July 8, 2026, and reiterated the demand since no action had been taken.
Marathwada currently falls under the jurisdiction of the Nanded Division of South Central Railway.
He argued a separate division would fast-track track doubling, electrification, station development and passenger amenities, benefiting tourist destinations like Ajanta, Ellora, Daulatabad and Paithan.
He urged that a Detailed Project Report (DPR) be prepared and a proposal submitted for Central Government approval, citing growing investment in the Shendra-Bidkin industrial area under the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor project.
